How are SAT scores being weighted in the admission process?

32:27
Scores will be weighted differently depending on the institution. Some have gone test-optional, which means any available scores will be considered, but are not required.

Do the number of SAT attempts have any impact on the admissions process? I was told that the Colleges can see the number of attempts and it is best to limit those attempts.

52:12
Not really, Mrs. Chandwani….and this will change even more with the rise in test optional…hopefully your child will not take it too many times…

53:52
@Chadwani, Students should sit for the test when they feel prepared. According to research conducted by Compass Education, students often plateau on their 3rd round of testing. Many students opt to sit 2x in order to superscore, which is when you are permitted to combine your highest scores from subsections. Not all schools superscore, but many do.

55:00
Good to know. Thank you.

55:41
How important is the interview and do you interview?

56:33
Different institutions work differently, Ms. Morgan…interviews can be informative or evaluative…

56:58
Can you talk to the difference between a 4 & 5 AP Score? Should you retake with a 4, (didn’t have an opportunity to see the online format prior) confident I would have received a 5 if I had or if it was paper.

58:45
Hi, During the pandemic, I heard some schools gave A’s as long as the students attended the school. This obviously inflated their GPA’s How would colleges distinguish students with these inflated GPA’s?

59:11
All high schools submit a profile to the universities, which outlines their grading policy, especially during covid.

01:03:29
Thank you

01:08:04

The common application provides an “additional comments” section, which enables students a space to explain extenuating circumstances related to their application.
